Based in Detroit, Michigan, Center Stage Images was founded by photographer and drummer Michael Hacala. 

Michael has proved photographic services to venues, artists, media outlets, and musical instrument companies like Ludwig Drums, Modern Drummer magazine, DRUM! Magazine, Luna Guitars, the Chicago Drum Show, Morgan Monroe Acoustic Instruments, Toca Percussion, DW Drums, The Kelly SHU, The Ark, Mountain Stage NewSong Finals, Folk Alliance, Kathy Mattea, Jill Jack, Tift Merritt, The Guess Who, Heartland, Mackinac Music Festial, the Detroit Free Press, and the Grosse Pointe News.

Michael began doing photography and promotional work for artists in the Detroit area in 2000, and has done cover photography for dozens of CD's, eight of which have won Detroit Music Awards. He has helped develop promotional materials for a number of Michigan-based artists that include Jill Jack, Julianne Ankley, Luke Sayers, Redhill, and Billy Brandt.

Prior to his photography career, Michael completed the summer performance program (drums) at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Along with his band mates, he won three Detroit Music Awards while the drummer for the folk-rock group Tangerine Trousers. While touring with the group, he performed as a headline artist at numerous music festivals throughout the Midwest, including the Ann Arbor Folk Festival, Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival, Blissfest, Mackinac Music Festival, Black Swamp Arts Festival, White River Folk Festival, and the DAFT Music Festival.
